Ten opzichte van 2012 is dit meer dan een miljard euro extra aan inkomsten uit buitenlandse valuta, een groei van 8,1 procent. Ook het aantal toeristen groeide in vergelijking met het jaar ervoor met 2,7 procent tot 25,7 miljoen, ondanks een jaar vol uitdagingen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.veelzijdigmaleisie.nl\/nieuws\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/03\/tm-Emerald-beach.jpg\" alt=\"tm-Emerald-beach\" width=\"475\" height=\"320\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1437\" \/><\/p>\n<p>De toeristische sector is hiermee de zesde grootste economische motor van het Aziatische land. <\/p>\n<p>De meeste toeristen die Maleisi\u00eb in 2013 bezochten, zijn afkomstig uit nabijgelegen landen: Singapore, Indonesi\u00eb, China, Brunei, Thailand, India, Filippijnen, Australi\u00eb en Japan. Het enige Europese land in deze top tien is het Verenigd Koninkrijk, waarvan Maleisi\u00eb een voormalige kolonie is.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.veelzijdigmaleisie.nl\/nieuws\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/03\/tm-Wau-Tourism-Malaysia.jpg\" alt=\"tm-Wau-Tourism-Malaysia\" width=\"475\" height=\"580\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1436\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Vanuit de Benelux reisden ruim 103.000 toeristen in 2013 naar Maleisi\u00eb, waarvan ca. 84.000 uit Nederland. Dat is een daling van 5 procent ten opzichte van 2012, geen slecht resultaat gezien de overall cijfers voor Nederlandse toeristen naar andere verre bestemmingen. In het najaar werd een substanti\u00eble boekingsgroei ingezet, die naar verwachting in 2014 zal doorzetten.<br \/>\nOnder Belgische toeristen werd Maleisi\u00eb in 2013 aanzienlijk populairder. Hun aantal groeide met 7,9 procent tot ca. 19.000. Dit is mede te danken aan een recente uitbreiding van het aantal touroperators die Maleisi\u00eb in hun aanbod hebben opgenomen. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.veelzijdigmaleisie.nl\/nieuws\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/03\/tm-KL-skyline-Tourism-Malaysia.jpg\" alt=\"tm-KL-skyline-Tourism-Malaysia\" width=\"475\" height=\"316\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1435\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Initiatieven van de overheid om het land top-of-mind te krijgen bij zowel zakenreizigers als vakantiegangers, onder andere door het als belastingvrije en betaalbare luxe shopping bestemming op de kaart te zetten, hebben hun vruchten afgeworpen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.veelzijdigmaleisie.nl\/nieuws\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/03\/tm-Cameron-Highlands-TM.jpg\" alt=\"tm-Cameron-Highlands-TM\" width=\"475\" height=\"316\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1434\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Met het feestelijke Visit Malaysia Year 2014 in volle gang zijn de verwachtingen voor dit jaar hooggespannen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>De toeristische sector van Maleisi\u00eb heeft het boven verwachting goed gedaan in 2013 met EUR 14,4 miljard aan toeristische inkomsten.
